I was fortunate enough to have a stall at an event held on Saturday 30th May to mark the 80th anniversary of the arrival of Allied Polish troops in Checkendon.
The celebration was organised by the Friends of Checkendon, Nettlebed and Kingwood Common Camps and took place at the Black Horse pub. It commemorated the arrival of Polish soldiers at the village military camp in 1946 after they had been exiled from communist-occupied Poland.
I had a wonderful day, sold many of my metalwork pieces, and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with everyone who stopped by the stall. It was a pleasure to meet so many people and hear their stories while taking part in such a meaningful event.
The guest of honour was 100 year old veteran Czesław ("Chez") Black (Blachucki), my grandfather, who is pictured above with my wife and me.

Meet me, a talented metalwork artist with a deep connection to the countryside where he grew up. With a day job in IT, I found myself longing for something more fulfilling and turned to his passion for metalwork as a creative outlet. My art, inspired by the natural world and the machines that move us, beautifully combines the raw strength of metal with the fluidity of organic forms. Each piece is a unique expression of my love for nature and vehicles, crafted with the precision of an IT professional but infused with the heart and soul of a true artist. Now, I am ready to share his creations with the world, offering art that not only tells a story but also adds a touch of rugged elegance to any space.
